We left Cholula and drove drove about two hours to the well known archeological site of Teotihuacan. Again through iOverlander, we found a place that has an RV park called Mi Mexico Lindo which was only about a 10 minute walk to the Teotihuacan gate.
When we got to the RV park, Tom got out of the truck before me and started to laugh. I asked him what was funny and he told me to look at the ground. This is what I saw.
Fortunately, we missed the storm and got there in time only to see the hail on the ground before it melted.
We got to the site even before the fog lifted in the morning in order to beat the tourist buses. We hired a guide who gave us a lot of useful information and walked around with us for about two hours. Then he turned us loose and we took our time wandering the site and taking photos.
We wandered off the site to the restaurant near where the camper was parked for lunch, then went back and toured the rest of the site in the afternoon when the fog had cleared.
The next morning we went out for a walk before leaving for Querétaro and looked up and saw over 20 hot air balloons in the sky over the archeological site. We walked the road the goes all the way around the site and watched the balloons the whole way.
We decided that we will have to return to Teotihuacan and go for a hot air balloon on our way home after the big trip.
